Subha Prasad attacked once again at Burdwan

১৫ নভেম্বরঃ ফের হামলার শিকার হলেন বিশিষ্ট রবীন্দ্রসঙ্গীত শিল্পী তথা বর্ধমান বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সায়েন্স ফেকাল্টির সিনিয়র সেক্রেটারি শুভপ্রসাদ নন্দীমজুমদার। তাঁর অভিযোগ, তৃণমূল ছাত্র পরিষদের সমর্থকরাই তাঁর ওপর হামলা চালিয়েছে। বিষয়টি তিনি উপাচার্য ও রেজিস্ট্রারের নজরে নিয়েছেন।

ঘটনার সূত্রপাত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে এক ছাত্রীর ফেলোশিপ নিয়ে। অভিযোগ, তাঁর ক্ষেত্রে বেশকিছু তথ্যবিভ্রাট ঘটেছে।কিন্তু বারবার ঘুরেও শোধরাতে পারছেন না। ছাত্রীটির পক্ষে সে সময় বেশ কিছু ছাত্র সেখানে জড়ো হয়। নেতৃত্বে তৃণমূল ছাত্র পরিষদ। শুরু হয় কৈফিয়ত তলব, হইচই। এই গোটা প্রক্রিয়ার সঙ্গে শুভবাবুর কোনও সম্পর্ক ছিল না। শুরুতে তিনি চুপচাপই ছিলেন, এই সবের মধ্যে ঢুকতে চাননি। পরে দু-চার কথা বলে বেরিয়ে যান। শুভবাবু লিফটের দিকে এগোনোর সময় একদল ছেলে তাকে ঘিরে ধরে। শুরু করে গালি-গালাজ। একসময় হাত ধরে টানাটানিও করে।

তৃণমূল ছাত্র পরিষদের রাজ্য সভাপতি তৃণাঙ্কর ভট্টাচার্য বলেন, এমন কোনও ঘটনাই ঘটেনি। যাদের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ আনা হয়েছে, সে দিন তারা এলাকাতেই ছিলেন না । সিপিএম-এর পরিষদীয় দলনেতা সুজন চক্রবর্তীও বিষয়টি শিক্ষামন্ত্রীর নজরে নেন। শিক্ষক-অশিক্ষক কর্মচারী নেতারা এই ঘটনার নিন্দায় সরব হয়েছেন।

শুভপ্রসাদের ওপর হামলার খবর বরাক উপত্যকায় এসে পৌঁছালে এখানে উদ্বেগ ছড়িয়ে পড়ে।

এই অঞ্চলের সন্তান, বিশিষ্ট সঙ্গীতশিল্পী শুভপ্রসাদ নন্দীমজুমদার ওয়েটুবরাক-কে বলেন, আসলে ভর্তি নিয়ে দুর্নীতির চেষ্টা হচ্ছিল। আমি শুরু থেকে তাতে প্রতিবন্ধক হয়ে দাঁড়াই। তাতে একটি চক্র যে কোনওভাবে আমাকে অপদস্ত করতে চাইছিল। এই ধরনের ঘটনা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে আরও অনেকের সঙ্গে ঘটে চলেছে। কিন্তু অধিকাংশই নীরবে তা মেনে নেন। আমি তা করতে রাজি নই। উপাচার্য-রেজিস্ট্রারকে জানিয়েছি, সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায়ও লিখেছি।

November 15: Eminent Rabindra Sangeet artist and Senior Secretary of Science Faculty in Burdwan University, Subha Prasad Nandi Majumdar became the target of miscreants once again. He has alleged that Trinamool Chhatra Parishad is behind the attacks. He has brought the matter to the notice of the Vice Chancellor and Registrar of Burdwan University.

The incident had its origin centering the scholarship of a student. It was alleged that there was intentional delay in updating scholarship related data of that particular student. Many students crowded there in favour of that female student. All of them raised a hue and cry and pressurized for clarification of the delay. There was, however, no relation of Subha Prasad Nandi Majumdar with this entire episode. Initially, he decided not to interfere in this matter. However, later he tried to mitigate this matter. Though for the time being, all of them went out of the Science Building, but they remained nearby. The moment Mr. Nandi Majumdar came out from the Science Building and went towards the lift, a group of boys attacked him. They started to physically abuse Mr. Nandi Majumdar.

On the flip side, Tirthankar Bhattacharjee, State president of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad has denied that no such incident occurred that day at Burdwan University. He further said that the boys against whom allegations were made were not present that day in that area. The matter was brought to the notice of the Education Minister by Sujan Chakraborty. Meanwhile, Teaching-Non-teaching staff leaders have severely criticised this incident.

This brutal incident was also condemned by the people of Barak Valley. Many have expressed concern for Subha Prasad Nandi Majumdar.
