Police busts fake currency racket: 4 arrested with fake notes & printing machine at Dholai
July 18: In a sensational development, a fake currency racket was busted by Dholai Police. On Monday night, Dholai Police on the basis of a secret information, apprehended 3 trucks laden with illegal ‘Burmese Supari.’ The police forces were also informed about a racket of fake currency which was operating from Dholai.
The new OC of Dholai Police Station, Manoj Pathak with the judicious use of his network has set himself to task against anti-social elements. As a part of his drive, on Monday night, Pathak along with his team seized fake Indian currency notes worth Rs.1.21 lakh from Bangram area of Bhaga Bazar at Dholai constituency of Cachar district. Further, police also recovered paper used for printing currency notes and a printing machine.
Four persons were arrested in connection with printing fake currency notes. Those arrested are: Saalim Laskar (34) of Bangram- Bhaga Bazar, Salim Laskar (42) of Rajghat- Bhaga Bazar, Riaz Uddin Laskar (22) of Jamalpur and Hussain Ahmed Laskar (35) of Rangauti at Bhagabazar. Police are interrogating them to find out the details of this fake currency network.
