PM Modi, Australian PM Albanese take lap of honour on chariot

Ahmedabad, March 9 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese on Thursday attended the first day of the India-Australia Test in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Motera.

PM Modi welcomed Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at Narendra Modi Stadium. Both PMs took a lap of the field on a chariot. The round of the playing turf on a golf car by the two dignitaries was applauded by the thousands of spectators who had already taken their seats in the world’s largest cricket stadium.
Modi and Albanese handed over Test caps to their respective team captains, Rohit Sharma and Steve Smith. A mammoth 1.32 lakh spectators reached the stadium to watch the match. Modi and Albanese met with the players ahead of the match. The Australian PM, who is on a four-day state visit to India, thanked PM Modi for inviting him.
