Petition filed in Supreme Court to cancel CBSE, ICSE Class XII examinations

May 15: A plea has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking directions to the Centre, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) to cancel the CBSE and ICSE Class XII examinations. The plea asked the courts to set aside the CBSE and ICSE notifications of April 14, 16 and 19 issued only in respect of clauses dealing with the postponement of the Class XII examination. The petition asked the court to devise an objective methodology to declare the result.

Meanwhile, the CBSE on Friday said that it has not taken any decision yet on Class XII Board exams. In April, CBSE had cancelled the Class X exams and postponed board exams for Class XII.
