Oxygen Express reaches Assam with 80 MT medical oxygen, CM thanks PM Modi
May 23: Amid the ongoing increase in Covid-19 cases in the country, the requirement for medical oxygen has increased. Keeping this aspect in mind, the Union government has sent 80 MT of medical oxygen for Assam. The first oxygen supplying train for Assam has arrived at the Inland Container Depot at Amingaon in Kamrup on Sunday noon. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Amingaon went to the Amingaon Depot to receive the four containers carrying 80 metric tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen for Covid-19 patients.
CMO Assam in a tweet wrote, “Oxygen is the most powerful weapon to save life in this crisis of Covid. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma welcomed #OxygenExpress in Amingaon today. Fast-track of Green Corridor, a blessing for Assam and North-East. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government of India for this help.” The Oxygen Express that departed from Tatanagar in Jharkhand on Saturday evening at 5.55 pm reached Amingaon on Sunday noon.
