Notification for the first phase of Assam Assembly elections issued on 2 March

March 2: The schedule for the forthcoming Assam Assembly Elections, 2021 was declared by Sunil Arora, 23rd Chief Election Commissioner of India (CEC) in an important press conference on 26 February. Assam will go for the assembly polls in three phases on 27 March, 1 & 6 April, 2021. The voting will take place from 7 am to 6 pm. The counting of the votes will take place on 2 May, 2021. As per the schedule, the Election Commission issued the notification for the first phase of Assam Assembly elections on 2 March.

• The 1st phase of assembly polls in Assam : 27 March, 2021(47 constituencies).
• The issue of nomination shall be till 2 March.
• The last date of nomination is 9 March.
• The scrutiny of nomination will be on 10 March.
• The last date of withdrawal of nomination is on 12 March.

Elections for the 126-member Assam Assembly will be held in three phases. The counting for all phases will take place on 2 May, 2021.
