Fully vaccinated persons will also require negative RT-PCR report to enter Meghalaya from 5 Jan

Jan. 3: With the spread of Omicron variant in various parts of the country, the state government are in high alert. Fresh restrictions are being imposed by almost all the states. The Northeastern states too have put on curbs. In a similar move, the Meghalaya Government has decided that even those who are fully vaccinated with doses shall require a negative RT-PCR test (conducted within 72 hours) before entering Meghalaya from 5 January, 2022. In the absence of such RTPCR reports, the passenger would need be tested at the entry point to Meghalaya. This was informed by CM Conrad Sangma while talking with the media on Monday.

Conducting a meeting to review the Covid situation in Meghalaya in light of the number of the Omicron cases in the country, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said, “Certain restrictions will be put in place. Deputy Commissioner’s will give notifications accordingly. I request those eligible to kindly get vaccinated.” The Chief Minister also informed that the night curfew will be re-imposed from 10 pm in Shillong city and in all the other districts.
