Assam University organizes mock drill to combat disasters
আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে বিদ্যারম্ভ অনুষ্ঠানে দুর্যোগ মোকাবেলায় মকড্রিল

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ৭ সেপ্টেম্বর : আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্কুল অব টেকনোলজির উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত নবাগত শিক্ষার্থীদের বিদ্যারম্ভ অনুষ্ঠানে দুর্যোগ মোকাবেলার পাঠ দেওয়া হল। গতকাল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সমাজকর্ম বিভাগের সহায়তায় পড়ুয়াদের দুর্যোগ ব্যবস্থাপনার সংবেদনশীলতা ও প্রস্তুতি নিয়ে এক কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করা হয়। এতে অংশ নেন কম্পিউটার সায়েন্স অ্যান্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগ, ইলেকট্রনিক্স অ্যান্ড কমিউনিকেশন ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগ ও অ্যাগ্রিকালচারাল ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং বিভাগের নবাগত ছাত্রছাত্রীরা।

এ দিন দুর্যোগ ব্যবস্থাপনার পাঠ দিতে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জেলার ডিডিএমএ ও এনডিআরএফের কর্মকর্তারা। তাঁদের অংশগ্রহণে আয়োজিত হয় দুর্যোগ মোকাবেলা সংক্রান্ত মক ড্রিল-ও। ছাত্রছাত্রীরাও দুর্যোগের সময় কী করণীয়, তা এই উপস্থাপনের মাধ্যমে সাধারণ জ্ঞান অর্জন করেন।

এই কর্মসূচির কো-অর্ডিনেটর হিসেবে ছিলেন ড. অরিজিতা প্রধান। এছাড়াও সমাজকর্ম বিভাগ থেকে এই কর্মসূচির সমন্বয়ে ছিলেন ড. রত্না হুইরেম ও ড. কাথিরেসান। এই কর্মসূচি আয়োজনের উদ্যোক্তা ছিলেন স্কুল অব টেকনোলজির ডিন অধ্যাপক সুদীপ্ত রায়। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সূত্রে এখবর জানানো হয়েছে।

Way2barak, September 7 : Lessons on disaster management were given to fresh students at the Vidyarambha function organized by the School of Technology of Assam University. Yesterday, a program was organized with the help of the university’s Social Work Department to sensitize and prepare students for disaster management. Fresh students from the Computer Science and Engineering Department, Electronics and Communication Engineering Department and Agricultural Engineering Department participated in it.

Officials from the district’s DDMA and NDRF were present to give lessons on disaster management. A mock drill on disaster management was also organized with their participation. The students also gained general knowledge through this presentation on what to do during a disaster.

Dr. Arijita Pradhan was the coordinator of this program. Dr. Ratna Huirem and Dr. Kathiresan were also in charge of this program from the Social Work Department. The initiator of organizing this program was Professor Sudipta Roy, Dean of the School of Technology. This news has been reported by university sources.
