CM meets Kirti Purkayastha & Karnendu Bhattacharjee in Silchar, takes stock of their health condition

Jan. 21: Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday visited the residences of former BJP President, Cachar, Kirti Purkayastha and ex-MP Karnendu Bhattacharjee. Both of them are facing health issues and the Chief Minister took stock of their health condition. In the evening, he reached the residence of Kiriti Purkayastha at Lane No.12, Link Road, Silchar.

Taking to his twitter handle, CM Dr Sarma wrote, “Humbled to be welcomed at the residence of well-known social activist and former BJP President, Cachar, Shri Kirti Purkayastha, who is not keeping well. I took stock of his ongoing treatment and pray for his early recovery.”

Later, he also went to the house of Congress leader and former Rajya Sabha Member Karnendu Bhattacharjee at Malugram, Silchar. The CM tweeted, “Visited residence of ex-MP Shri Karnendu Bhattacharjee at Malugram, Silchar and took stock of his health. We discussed various issues related to Barak Valley. I am hopeful that his long experience will be beneficial for us in speeding up development work in the region.”

The Chief Minister was accompanied during his visit to the houses of Kirti Purkayastha & Karnendu Bhattacharjee by Guardian Minister Ashok Singhal, MP Dr Rajdeep Roy,MLA’s Dipayan chakraborty, Kaushik Rai among others. Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma was in Silchar on a day’s visit. He inaugurated Cath Lab and resident doctors’ hostel at Silchar Medical College & Hospital and also took part as the Chief Guest in the 29th Foundation Day of Assam University, Silchar.
