The woman was found inside the Bishnupur branch of the Meghalaya Rural Bank here when the manager stepped inside the bank on Monday.

The accused has been identified as 40-year-old Isabella Marboh. She was found locked inside the bank even as her husband launched a campaign on social media to look for his ‘missing wife’. East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP) said they have filed a case in this regard. However, police refrained on commenting whether the woman planned a robbery in the bank. SP Sylvester Nongtnger said a probe is underway into the matter.

Though no money was missing from the bank, yet “She made an attempt to break the lock. In the CCTV footage, you can see her with some equipment (hammer and handsaw) and a bag. We then found the equipment,” reported EastMojo. Some CCTV cameras and a CCTV monitor were found to be broken, according to bank officials.
