Margaret Alva named Opposition’s VP candidate as against NDA’s Jagdeep Dhankhar
July 17: Margaret Alva was named as the Opposition’s candidate for post of Vice President of India. This was announced by NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Sunday. He said, “Congress leader Margaret Alva is Opposition’s candidate for the post of Vice President of India.”
Margaret Alva has earlier served as a Union Minister and has also served as Governor of several states including Gujarat and Goa. She will be facing West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar who was announced as BJP-led NDA’s candidate for the post of Vice President.
