Lowest since outbreak of 2nd wave: Only 7 Covid +ve cases in Cachar on 22 August

Aug 22: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Sunday at 11.55 PM. As per the latest data, only 07 persons were found positive in Cachar on Sunday. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 131. This was informed by District Media Expert on Sunday night. Also, 03 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Saturday, 13 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 1,684 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 03 persons were found positive, whereas 04 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,575 whereas during this phase, 19,252 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 131 active patients:

32 of them are admitted at SMCH
13 at MH
12 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
05 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
11 at CRPF Doyapur
02 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
02 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
09 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
04 Palonghat Model Hospital
41 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 21 August to 5 PM on 22 August) did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Sunday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 22 August, there were 29 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 26 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 03 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 04 patients were put under ventilator support and 21 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 03 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 06 of them were discharged.
