Lok Sabha Polls: Zonal & Sector Officers trained along with other officials

April 13: Cachar District administration is leaving no stones unturned for a hassle-free, smooth and fair Parliamentary Election on 18 April, 2019. In this connection, a training programme of all Zonal Officers, Sector Officers and Sub-Sector Officers in connection with Parliamentary Election 2019, 2HP Silchar was held on Saturday at Government Girls HS School, Silchar. The training was also attended by other higher officials associated with Cachar District Administration and Police administration.

Present during the training session was Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri and Election Observer. Training was imparted to them on both the aspects of poll procedure and EVM/VVPAT. Deputy Commissioner also highlighted some of the key points which needs to be noted during the poll process. The training was imparted by the Assembly Level Master Trainers. Sudipta Dutta Choudhury, State Level Master Trainer was also present in the venue.Mridul Kanti Chakraborty, Head Assistant of the Training & Awareness Cell provided logistic support to the training session.

Silchar constituency will go for the polls on 18 April. On 16 April, 2019 poll materials will be issued for the two Assembly constituencies of Lakhipur and Katigorah. Whereas, on 17 April, 2019 poll materials will be issued for the remaining 5 assembly constituencies of Silchar, Sonai. Dholai, Udharbond and Borkhola. All employees associated with polling duty were directed to report at NATRIP as per their assigned duties on 16 and/or 17 April at 6 AM. In this regard, bus service has been arranged to drop the employees at NATRIP. Buses will leave from Dak Bungalow, near the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar at 5 AM on both 16 and 17 April.

Meanwhile, in order to assist the polling parties regarding EVM/VVPAT or poll procedure, Help Desks will be set up at Jhapirband NATRIP Campus on 16 and 17 April, 2019. In this regard, a detailed plan has been chalked out by the Cachar District Administration. In case of any last minute confusion, the help desk will be of immense help to the poll parties.
