Venugopal & Subhranil won hearts of audience by their musical performance in Silchar

January 20: Like every year, this year too, ‘Barak Valley Welfare Development Society (BVWDS)’ conducted a cultural programme on 19 January, 2020 at Bhanga Bhawan, Silchar, which was sponsored by Ministry of Cultural Affairs,  Government of India. The Cultural Exchange Program titled ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’ jointly organized by BVWDS and Lions Club of Silchar Lioness.

Cachar Deputy Commissioner, Barnali Sarma graced the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest. While speaking during the occasion, she praised the efforts of the organisers for presenting such a wonderful cultural conglomeration.  “It is very heartwarming to see that such program are being conducted here,” said the Deputy Commissioner.

The star attraction of the programme was Venugopal B.N., a Bengaluru based eminent vocalist, and Subhranil Sarkar, a young Kolkata based Harmonica Player. The event also boosted up the spirit of local artists who also performed and showcased their talent by the performance of various folk dance, drama, songs,band songs etc.

The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Dr. Partha Sharati Bhattacharya, Secretary of District Legal Service Authority, Cachar, Nawab Aram Hussain, Cultural Development Officer, Cachar, Mehboob Alam Laskar, District Youth Coordinator, Cachar, Rajkumar Kedia, District Social Welfare Officer, I. B Upadhaya, Manager, Rosekandy Tea Estate, Nelson Joseph, Principal Don-Bosco School, Brother Reji, Director of BOSCOTECH, Sister Rossy & Sister Sumita Mary, Vice Principal of Silchar Holly Cross School.

The organisers expressed gratitude to all those who supported them for making the programme a grand success. The President and the team of BVWDS also thanked all the participants, guests, delegates and the audience for making this event a fruitful one.
