Leaders with a possibility to win & many new faces likely to get BJP ticket in Assam
Jan. 12: There is every possibility that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will give party tickets to many new faces during the forthcoming assembly election. Only those leaders who have chances of winning the polls would be given tickets. This was indicated by North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) Convenor and Assam Cabinet Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma after attending a meeting with BJP National President JP Nadda in Guwahati on Monday evening. He further said that the process of selecting candidates in BJP is plain and simple and added that the leadership has been trying to read the minds of their workers.
BJP president J P Nadda on his two day visit to Assam conducted a series of meetings with party leaders of Assam on the upcoming assembly election. The meeting which discussed the BJP’s strategies for the assembly elections was also attended by chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Das.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to capture the state assembly in 2021 and retain power which it wrestled from the Congress in 2016. The elections for the 126-member Assam Legislative Assembly is supposed to be held in March-April, 2021. The bugle call for the great political battle in the state was played by the national President of BJP, Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday while taking part in a public meeting in South Assam’s Silchar. Nadda expressed confidence that lotus will bloom once again during the 2021 Assam Assembly polls. Nadda left for New Delhi on Tuesday.
