Lata Mangeshkar’s health deteriorates, put under strict medical surveillance

Feb. 5: Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar is back on the ventilator after her health deteriorated and is undergoing “aggressive therapy”. She is still in the intensive care unit (ICU) ward. The veteran singer’s health condition had deteriorated again today. Dr Pratit Samdani, who is treating her at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital had earlier said that she is “critical” and was put on a ventilator. “She is still in ICU and will remain under the observation of doctors,” he had said earlier today.

The 92-year-old singer tested positive for Covid with mild symptoms and was admitted on January 8 to Breach Candy Hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) where she is being treated by Dr Pratit Samdani and his team of doctors.

However, towards the evening on Saturday, her sister, veteran singer Asha Bhosle told the media persons outside the hospital that Lata Mangeshkar’s health is improving. “The doctor has said that she is stable now,” she said.
