Yaba tablets worth ₹6.52 crore seized by BSF, 2 drug peddlers apprehended

Feb. 11: A huge amount of Yaba tablets categorised as narcotics was seized by Border Security Forces (BSF) on Friday. Acting on specific BSF input regarding a deal of Narcotics (Yaba) at Village Chhimluang, (on NH 306) under district Kolasib, Mizoram, a special operation was conducted at about 3.10 PM on Friday. The operation was planned by troops of 38 Bn BSF along with the Excise and Narcotics Deptt, Kolasib, Mizoram and foiled the dealing of Narcotics Yaba tablets.

During the operation, 1,30,492 Yaba tablets (weight of 12.8 kg) worth Rs. 6,52,46,000 were seized. Two drug peddlers were apprehended in this connection. They were identified as Samir Deb (49), S/O. Rabindra Dey a resident of Rangirkhari, Silchar and Solomon (36), S/O. Khuma and a resident of Zokhawthar in Myanmar.
