Some relief: After 35 days, Covid-19 death toll in India falls below 3,000
June 1: The 2nd wave of coronavirus witnessed a great surge in the death toll in India, thereby making it a cause of concern both for the people and the government. However, there seemed to be some respite on Tuesday as the country reported less than 3,000 Covid deaths after a period of 35 days. In the last 24 hours, India reported 1,27,510 new Covid-19 cases and 2,795 deaths. this is also the lowest rise in daily Covid-19 cases in 54 days.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the country stands at 2,81,75,044, while the death toll surged to 3,31,895. The Health ministry further stated that as of now, 2,59,47,629 patients were cured and discharged. At present, there are 18,95,520 active cases in the country.
