Orientation on community based joyous learning initiative ‘Cholo Shikhi Sathe Sathe’ held at Silchar

November 7: An orientation programme on a community based joyous learning initiative entitled, ‘Cholo Shikhi Sathe Sathe’ (Let’s learn together) was held at Gandhi Bhawan of Thursday. Evening learning classes will be held through volunteers in the vicinity of the village wherein learners of all age groups and different learning level will join and will learn with the help of each other and the volunteers. The community members will be motivated to involve in the programme for improving the competency level of their children.

It was in this connection that an orientation programme was conducted with all CRCCs, BEEO’S, DPO’s on implementation of the programme and the Standard Operating Procedure(SOP). DPO, Papdi Bhattacharjee elaborated the participants in the orientation programme and discussed on the issues like multi-grade multi level-learning, identification of volunteers and venue, role of community, CRCCs, Blocks and various other levels.

The welcome address was delivered by Lolita Rongpipi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Cachar. In her speech Laya Madduri, Deputy commissioner Cachar emphasized upon the importance of this initiative and how it will help in improving the competency of the learners.She also shared her experience of the same initiative implemented in Dibrugarh and the positive outcomes. She focused more on involvement of the community specially guardians, SMC, Mothers group, PRI members etc.

The orientation programme was also attended by Rana Ranjan Nath, Panchatapa Choudhury along with District Programmer Prosenjit Paul, Programme Associate Uday koiri, Asstt. Nazir Jayanta Paul and all BEEO’S.District Administration, Cachar.
