Engine trial successful in hill section, Railways awaiting track clearance
July 17: The railway track which was washed out due to landslide in the hill section between Mupa and Maibang is yet to resume services. Since the sinking of the line 17 days ago, restoration work has been going on in full swing. As the original alignment could not be set in order, it was shifted around 150 meters towards the hill. Efforts are on to check the further erosion of the track side.
On Wednesday, after setting the track in the new alignment, test run of engine took place successfully in presence of the senior officials of the Railways. As per official version, track clearance by the engineering section of NFR Lumding Division is awaited.
