বিজ্ঞান ও ঐতিহ্যের মেলবন্ধনে শিক্ষামূলক সফর আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের পড়ুয়াদের

ওয়ে টু বরাক, ১৩ ফেব্রুয়ারি : বৈজ্ঞানিক দৃষ্টিভঙ্গির সঙ্গে সাংস্কৃতিক চেতনার সমন্বয় ঘটাতে শুক্রবার শিক্ষার্থী ও গবেষকদের নিয়ে এক শিক্ষামূলক সফরের আয়োজন করলো আসাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের পদার্থবিজ্ঞান বিভাগ। গন্তব্য ছিল কাছাড় জেলার সুন্দরীর বনতারাপুর এলাকায় অবস্থিত ‘বরাক মিউজিয়াম অ্যান্ড লাইব্রেরি’। এই সফরের মূল উদ্দেশ্য ছিল গবেষকদের আঞ্চলিক ইতিহাস ও দেশীয় জ্ঞান সংরক্ষণ পদ্ধতি সম্পর্কে এক বিস্তৃত ধারণা প্রদান করা।

​পরিচালক ড. হাওরোংবাম রাজমণি সিংহের প্রতিষ্ঠিত এই বরাক মিউজিয়াম অ্যান্ড লাইব্রেরি উত্তর-পূর্ব ভারতের ঐতিহ্যের এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভাণ্ডার হিসেবে আত্মপ্রকাশ করেছে। শিক্ষামূলক পর্যটনকে উৎসাহিত করার লক্ষ্যে নিবেদিত এই প্রতিষ্ঠানটিতে প্রাচীন পাণ্ডুলিপি, ঐতিহাসিক নিদর্শন এবং দুর্লভ বইয়ের এক বিশাল সংগ্রহ রয়েছে, যা বরাক উপত্যকার বৈচিত্র্যময় সামাজিক ও সাংস্কৃতিক কাঠামোকে প্রতিফলিত করে। শতাব্দী প্রাচীন ঐতিহ্যবাহী কারুশিল্প সংরক্ষণ এবং বিশেষ করে মণিপুরি ও অন্যান্য জনজাতীয় ইতিহাস নথিবদ্ধ করার মাধ্যমে এই জাদুঘরটি অঞ্চলের অতীতের সঙ্গে ভবিষ্যৎ একাডেমিক গবেষণার এক অপরিহার্য যোগসূত্র হিসেবে কাজ করছে।

​এদিন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রতিনিধি দলের নেতৃত্বে ছিলেন স্কুল অব ফিজিক্যাল সায়েন্সেসের ডিন অধ্যাপক অত্রি দেশমুখ্য ও পদার্থবিজ্ঞান বিভাগের প্রধান অধ্যাপক হিমাদ্রি শেখর দাস। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের পক্ষ থেকে ড. রাজমণি সিংহকে সংবর্ধনা জানানো হয় এবং তৃণমূল স্তরে এই জাদুঘর প্রতিষ্ঠা ও সাংস্কৃতিক সংরক্ষণে তাঁর নিষ্ঠার প্রশংসা করা হয়। প্রতিনিধি দলে অন্যদের মধ্যে ছিলেন অধ্যাপক বি. ইন্দ্রজিৎ শর্মা, ড. বিধান মহন্ত, ড. জয়দীপ চৌধুরী প্রমুখ। উল্লেখ্য, এই গবেষক দলের অনেকের গবেষণার বিষয়বস্তু প্রায়শই এই ধরনের আর্কাইভে সংরক্ষিত প্রযুক্তিগত ও বস্তুগত ইতিহাসের সাথে সম্পর্কিত।

Way2barak, February 13 : In an effort to integrate scientific outlook with cultural consciousness, the Department of Physics at Assam University organized an educational tour on Friday for students and research scholars. The destination was the Barak Museum and Library located at Sundari Bontarapur in Cachar district. The primary objective of the visit was to provide researchers with a comprehensive understanding of regional history and indigenous knowledge preservation practices.

Founded by Director Dr. Haorongbam Rajmani Singh, the Barak Museum and Library has emerged as a significant repository of heritage in Northeast India. Dedicated to promoting educational tourism, the institution houses an extensive collection of ancient manuscripts, historical artifacts, and rare books that reflect the diverse social and cultural fabric of the Barak Valley. By preserving centuries-old traditional crafts and documenting Manipuri and other indigenous histories, the museum serves as a vital link between the region’s past and future academic research.

The university delegation was led by Prof. Atri Deshmukh, Dean of the School of Physical Sciences, and Prof. Himadri Shekhar Das, Head of the Department of Physics. On behalf of the university, Dr. Rajmani Singh was felicitated and his dedication to establishing the museum at the grassroots level and promoting cultural preservation was highly appreciated. Other members of the delegation included Prof. B. Indrajit Sharma, Dr. Bidhan Mahanta, and Dr. Joydeep Choudhury. Notably, the research interests of many scholars in the team are closely related to the technological and material histories preserved in such archives.
