Earthquake measuring 4.4 jolts Meghalaya, Assam & other NE states

Nov. 3: An earthquake measuring 4.4 in the Richter scale jolted Meghalaya at 1.13  AM on Tuesday. The earthquake had its epicentre at 71 kms West South West (WSW) of Nongpoh in Meghalaya. The tremours were felt in Assam and adjoining states. The quake lasted for a few seconds.

The quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres and the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) has marked this earthquake as ‘reviewed’ while confirming the coordinates 25.69 (latitude) and 91.15 (longitude). Till the filing of this report, there was no report of any damage.
