Dilip Saikia reviews poll strategy at Dima Hasao BJP meet in Haflong

way2barak, November 24: Assam BJP president and Lok Sabha MP Dilip Saikia on Sunday sharpened his rhetoric on the issue of Migrant Muslims during his visit to Haflong in Dima Hasao district, asserting that the BJP would intensify its political campaign against what he described as a “cultural and existential threat” posed by Bengali-speaking Muslim groups.
Speaking at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhavan, Saikia said, “For decades, the Miya community has endangered Assam’s culture. They have encroached upon our religious and historical sites. This is a serious threat to our society,” he claimed.
Saikia, on Sunday attended the Dima Hasao BJP’s organisational meet held at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan in Haflong.
During the meeting, several challenges and strategies for the upcoming 2026 Assam Assembly election were discussed.
Autonomous District MP Amarsing Tisso, Minister Nandita Gorlosa, NCHAC CEM Debolal Gorlosa, and other dignitaries and senior leaders also attended the meeting.
During the session, Dilip Saikia interacted with party leaders and workers, sharing valuable insights on strengthening the organisation, improving ground-level outreach, and enhancing coordination among karyakartas to serve public interest effectively.
Speaking to the media, BJP state president Saikia said that the BJP is committed to strengthening its organisation and ensuring continued service for the welfare and development of the people of Dima Hasao.
He added that in the upcoming election, the BJP aims to retain the maximum number of seats and continue its “Triple-Engine Government”, in Dima Hasao district, the state government, and the Centre, for the overall development of the nation and its people.
