Assam govt to provide mobile phones to students of Class IX & X for online classes
July 16: In what seems to be a good news for the students of Assam is that the state government has decided to provide phones for providing an impetus to online education during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. In her budget speech on Friday, State Finance Minister Ajanta Neog stated that her government is committed towards development of online education.

She said that the government will now provide mobile phones to students of Class IX and X in the state. For this, sufficient fund has been sanctioned in the budget for the Financial Year 2021-22. The state Finance Minister further stated that a total of 8 lakh students will be benefited due to this step adopted by the government. Ajanta Neog said, “This step of the government will definitely reduce the number of school dropouts.”
