Only 27 trainees, Swimming course cancelled by Silchar DSA

১২ সেপ্টেম্বর: শিলচর ডিএসএ-র সুইমিং পুল কিছুতেই স্বাভাবিক ছন্দে ফিরতে পারছে না। বেশ কিছুদিন বন্ধ থাকার পর পুরো জল বদলে পুজোপাঠ সেরে এই বছর সাঁতার প্রশিক্ষণ শুরু হলেও আগের চেহারা ফিরে পায়নি। কোনও ব্যাচ পুরো হয়নি। আর সেপ্টেম্বরের সেশন তো প্রশিক্ষর্থীর অভাবে বাতিলই করে দিতে হল। বুধবারই এই সেশন শুরু হতো। আগামী ১১ অক্টোবর পর্যন্ত চলার কথা ছিল।

শিলচর জেলা ক্রীড়া সংস্থার সাঁতার বিভাগের উপসভাপতি আশুতোষ রায় বলেন, কী করা যাবে। মাত্র ২৭ জন নাম লিখিয়েছেন এ বার। একটা ব্যাচ চালাতে অন্তত ৮০ হাজার টাকা ব্যয় হয়। ফলে ১০০ প্রশিক্ষার্থীই লক্ষ্য থাকে। ৮০জন হলে তবু চালিয়ে নেওয়া যেত। আশুবাবু জানান, যারা ফি দিয়েছেন, তাদের তার ফিরিয়ে দেওয়া হচ্ছে। বুধবারই টাকা ফেরানো শুরু হয়েছে। এই বছর আর কোনও ব্যাচ নেওয়া হবে না। ২০১৯-র এপ্রিলে আবার প্রশিক্ষণের সুযোগ মিলবে বলে আশুবাবু জানিয়েছেন।

September 12: The swimming pool of DSA Silchar has not been able to attain normalacy and is rather giving a deserted look. Infact the swimming pool was closed for a long time. Meanwhile, the water has been totally drained out and fresh water filled in it. Even ‘puja’ was performed. But all these measures failed to attract the trainees. Not a single batch could meet its intake capacity. The current session was supposed to start from this Wednesday and would have continued till 11 October.

Ashutosh Roy, Vice President (Swimming) of Silchar DSA lamented that only 27 trainees have enlisted their names for the swimming course. He said that atleast Rs. 80 thousand is required to train one batch and so the target per batch is 100 trainees. DSA is returning the fees which they had collected from the 27 trainees who have earlier registered themselves for swimming course. He also informed that DSA will not start any further batch this year. Mr. Roy informed that interested trainees may enlist their names again in April 2019.
