Youth arrested from Bangalore for spreading rumour against Tripura CM & his wife on social media

Jan. 9: Tripura Police arrested a youth identified as Alkas Uddin from Bangalore for maligning Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and his wife Niti Deb on social media. A case against the accused was filed at the Kadamtala Police Station by Abdul Hanif, president of Kadamtala (in Tripura) BJP Minority Front for spreading rumour against the Chief Minister & his wife. Acting on this, the youth was arrested from Bangalore.

Though the youth was residing at Bangalore but he originally hails from Kadamtala Kalagang in the Dharmanagar subdivision in Tripura. SP of North district police, Bhanupada Chakraborty confirmed the news of the arrest of Alkas Uddin. Later on, the youth was produced before the Dharmanagar district sessions court on Friday.
