DC meets Insurance Companies to facilitate flood claims in systematic manner
July 14: Deputy Commissioner, Cachar in a letter written to the Commissioner & Secretary, Govt of Assam appealed for a meeting with 4 major Insurance Companies to compensate the losses incurred by the Business communities in Cachar due the recent flood. In response to this, the Insurance Companies held a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar.
Due to recent devastating flood, which created havoc in Cachar distinct and Silchar in particular, and has broken the business backbone causing extensive damage, a large number of insurance claims are being put up especially to 4 major Insurance Companies viz. The New India Assurance Co. Ltd., United India Insurance Co Ltd, National Insurance Co Ltd., and The Oriental Insurance Co Ltd. as these are the prime Insurance Companies and active support from their end is very much required to compensate the losses incurred by the Business community.
Considering the above, a request was placed to the 4 major Insurance Companies to join the District Administration for an across the table meeting along with Wholesale and Retail Merchant Associations, Automobile Companies, and similar other Business Communities to facilitate the claims process in a more streamlined manner. It was in this connection that DC Keerthi Jalli met with Automobile industry sector, wholesale merchant associations, insurance companies for ensuring quick survey and resolution of insurance claims.
