৫ ফেব্রুয়ারিঃ মণিপুরি ইয়ুথ ফ্রন্ট অব অসম (মাইফা)-র বাইক মিছিলে যোগ দিয়ে ভারতবিরোধী স্লোগান দিয়েছিল যে যুবক, সে নিজেই মঙ্গলবার দুপুরে থানায় গিয়ে আত্মসমপর্ণ করে। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, ধৃতের নাম সুশান্ত রাজবংশী। মাইফা নেতা হেরাজিত সিংহের পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে ওয়েলকাম চিন, বাই বাই ইন্ডিয়া বলছিল সুশান্ত।

হেরাজিত সহ মণিপুরি নেতারা প্রথমে এই ধরনের স্লোগানের কথা পুরোপুরি উড়িয়ে দিয়েছিলেন। পরে ভিডিও ছড়িয়ে পড়তেই সুর বদলান তাঁরা। বলাবলি শুরু হয়, ভিডিও-য় দেখা দেওয়া যুবককে তাঁরা কেউ চিনেন না। বিভিন্ন মহল থেকে চাপ সৃষ্টি হতেই পুলিশ রাষ্ট্রবিরোধী স্লোগানের জন্য মামলা দায়ের করে।

ভিডিও-তে দেখা যাওয়া ওই যুবককে গ্রেফতারের জন্য নানা পদ্ধতিতে এগুচ্ছিলেন তাঁরা। পরিস্থিতি আঁচ করে শেষে মঙ্গলবার দুপুরে নিজেই থানায় গিয়ে ধরা দেয় সুশান্ত। পরে দ্রুত তাকে আদালতে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়। বিচারকের নির্দেশে পরে পাঠিয়ে দেওয়া হয় শিলচর সেন্ট্রাল জেলে।

February 5: The youth who raised anti-India and pro-China slogans during a rally organised by Manipuri Youth Front of Assam (MYFA) at Silchar surrendered in the police station on Tuesday afternoon. Police informed that the name of the youth is Sushanta Rajbongshi. In a video which went viral, Sushanta was seen to stand near MYFA leader Herajit Singha and raise the solgans-“Welcome China, Bye Bye India.”

Initially, Herajit and other Manipuri leaders said that no such slogans were raised during the MYFA rally. However, when the video of the controversial rally went viral, they came out of the denial mode. It was then that the leaders of MYFA started to tell that they do not know the youth who raised anti-national slogans. In the meantime, police too had to register a case of sedition after being pressurized from various quarters.

Police was proceeding to trace the youth seen raising anti-national slogans in the video. But finally, the youth sensing trouble surrendered on Tuesday afternoon. The surrendered youth Sushanta Rajbongshi was then hurriedly produced in the court. The judiciary sent him to Silchar Central Jail.
