১৮ এপ্রিল: করোনা মোকাবিলায় বেশি করে নমুনা পরীক্ষার পরামর্শ দিচ্ছেন বিশেষজ্ঞরা৷ একে মাথায় রেখেই রাজ্যের স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী ড. হিমন্ত বিশ্ব শর্মা দাবি করেন, আসামের অবস্থা অন্য অনেক রাজ্যের চেয়ে ভাল৷ এখানে এ পর্যন্ত ৪ হাজার ৪০০ জনের লালারসের নমুনা পরীক্ষা করা হয়েছে৷ এর মধ্যে ৩৪ জনের পজিটিভ ধরা পড়েছে৷ ৪১৯৯ নেগেটিভ৷ বাকি ১৬৭ জনের রিপোর্ট এখনও আসার অপেক্ষায়৷

শনিবার গুয়াহাটিতে সাংবাদিক সম্মেলন করে স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী ড. শর্মা বলেন, গড় হিসাব টানলে আসামে প্রতি ১০ লক্ষ জনসংখ্যায় ১২০ জনের নমুনা পরীক্ষা হয়েছে৷ এ অন্য অনেক রাজ্যের তুলনায় ভাল৷ উত্তরপ্রদেশে ১০৬, পশ্চিমবঙ্গে তা মাত্র ৪২৷ বিহারও অনেকটা পিছিয়ে৷ হিমন্ত জানান, করোনা টেস্ট শুরু হতেই আসামের ৫টি ল্যাবরেটরিকে ভিভিআরএল ল্যাব হিসাবে ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে৷ এখন যুক্ত করা হয়েছে আরও একটি৷ এর দরুন এখন নাগাল্যান্ড, অরুণাচল প্রদেশের নমুনাও আসামে পরীক্ষা করা হবে৷ মেঘালয় ও মিজোরামের পরীক্ষা আগে থেকেই হচ্ছিল৷

April 18: Assam is conducting 120 COVID-19 tests per 10 lakh people. The number of tests is going to increase in the next few days. This was informed by state Health Minister, Dr. himanta Biswa Sarma in a press briefing held in Guwahati on Saturday evening.

Drawing a comparison with a few other states, Sarma told that Uttar Pradesh is doing 106 tests per 10 lakh people, Jharkhand 96 tests per 10 lakh, West Bengal 42 tests per 10 lakh and so on. Though he added that ideally the number of tests should have been more, but in comparison to other states, Assam is moderately placed.

As of now, 4440 samples were collected for testing, out of which, 4199 tested negative, 34 were positive and the results of 167 were awaited. Sarma added that these tests (4400) include those performed for Meghalaya and Mizoram as well.
