CM Himanta Biswa Sarma goes pandal hopping in Silchar; offer prayers to Devi Durga on Maha Saptami

CM inspects progress of bridge over river Barak at Annapurnaghat

Oct. 12: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma who is on a visit to Barak valley today visited several puja pandals and offered his prayers to Devi Durga for the well being and prosperity of the people of the state.

The Chief Minister began his tour to the valley today with a visit to Kanchakanti Devi Mandir at Udharbond. Later, the Chief Minister visited Shyamananda Bhoiravbari Durga Puja, Panchanan Shivbari Sarbajanin Durga Puja, Sheuratola Durgotsav, Premtola Sarbajanin Durga Puja, Durga Puja at Ramkrishna Mission Sevashram, Bilpar Durgabari Durgapuja, Bajrangpur Tea Estate Puja, Tarapur Sarbajanin Durga Puja, Tarapur Sarbajanin Durga Puja (Motor Stand), All Medical Sales People Durga Puja and offered prayers to Devi Durga.

Chief Minister Dr. Sarma today also visited NIT, Silchar and inaugurated Shubhankar Pandit Memorial Garden and Bakul Beethi (Outer Ring Road) of NIT, Silchar. The garden was developed in memory of Shubhankar Pandit who was a student of the electrical engineering department of the Institute.

Chief Minister Dr. Sarma today also inspected a site identified by the district administration for construction of Integrated DC Offices at Kathal in Silchar. He also inspected the progress of under construction bridge over river Barak connecting Annapurnaghat, Silchar with Dudhpatil under Borkhola LAC. During his visit, the Chief Minister asked the Deputy Commissioner to take speedy steps for early completion of the project. MP Dr Rajdeep Roy, MLAs Kaushik Roy and Dipayan Chakraborty, DC Keerthi Jalli and PWD officials were present during the visit of the Chief Minister.
