1st dose of Russian vaccine Sputnik V administered in Hyderabad; per dose to cost ₹995.40

May 14: After Covaxin and Covishield, Indian generic drug giant Dr Reddy’s Laboratories on Friday announced the launch of the Russian vaccine for Covid-19 Sputnik V in the Indian market. The pharmaceutical company from its headquarters in Hyderabad announced that the first dose of the vaccine was administered in Hyderabad. Dr Reddy’s, in a statement, said that the imported doses of the vaccine were presently priced at a maximum retail price of Rs 948 and 5% of GST i.e. Rs 995.40 per dose.

The first consignment of imported doses of the Sputnik V vaccine landed in India on May 1. The vaccine is likely to be available in market from next week.
