61 detected Covid +ve till 6 PM in Cachar on Friday

July 2:  A total of 61 new cases of COVID-19 was reported till 6 PM on Friday in Cachar. The number of positive cases is expected to rise towards the night. During the day, 12,627 Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) were done in which 57 were found positive, whereas 03 persons were detected as positive in RT-PCR tests. It needs mention here that 75 persons were detected Covid-19 positive on Thursday.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley for more than a month with a gap of two days in between. However, the last 24 hours (5 PM on 1 July to 5 PM on 2 July) again did not witness the death of any Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH).  This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Thursday evening.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 2 July, there were 104 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 46 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 58 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 12 patients were put under ventilator support and 72 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 19 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 35 of them were discharged.
