With 5 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 26 on 3 Sept, 1 death at SMCH

Active cases 109 in Cachar; 16 discharged on Friday

Sept 3: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Friday at 10 PM. As per the latest data, 05 more persons were detected as Coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 26 persons were found positive in the district on 3 September. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 21 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has reached 109. This was informed by District Media Expert on Friday night. Also, 16 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Thursday, 16 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 4,158 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 17 persons were found positive, whereas 09 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 19,777 whereas during this phase, 19,473 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 109 active patients:

23 of them are admitted at SMCH
05 at MH
10 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
07 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
08 at CRPF Doyapur
04 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
04 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
01 Palonghat Model Hospital
47 patients are in home isolation.

The Covid-19 situation in gradually is gradually improving. There has been substantial decline in the number of daily positive cases. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 2 September to 5 PM on 3 September) witnessed the death of 01 Covid-19 positive patient at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH on Friday evening. The deceased was identified as:

  • Motilal Goswami (79) from Sarat Pally, near Sonai Road in Silchar was admitted at SMCH on 30 August, 2021. He, however, breathed his last at 5.40 PM on 2 September, 2021.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 3 September, there were 26 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College. Further, no patients were put under ventilator support and 17 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 06 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 02 of them were discharged.
