Cachar BJP forms human chain to protest against security breach of PM Modi in Punjab

Jan. 10: ‘Human chain’ was made by the karyakartas of Cachar District Committee of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security lapse that took place in Punjab on 5 January, 2022. Top brass of District BJP including Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy, MLA Silchar Dipayan Chakraborty, District President Bimolendu Roy, Chairman of Zilla Parishad Amitabh Rai and around 200 party workers took to the streets of Silchar and formed the human chain. 

Speaking during the occasion, both Silchar MP and MLA denounced in strong words the security breach that in which the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s convoy was stuck for around 20 minutes due to a road blockade at Ferozepur in Punjab. The PM got struck over a bridge inviting grave threat to his life. “This is a cent percent administrative failure. The Prime Minister of this country survived a horrific attack. The state is near the Pakistan border. There could have been a bomb under the bridge. I think we narrowly escaped the happening of an untoward incident against the Prime Minister,” stated MLA Chakraborty.

Dr Rajdeep Roy criticised the absence of senior officials, including DGP and Chief Secretary at the time of the incident. He stated that the Chief Minister and the state Home Minister are accountable for the answer to the incident. He regarded the incident as a criminal negligence.
