Bill to repeal provincialisation of Madrassas to be tabled in the Assembly on Monday: Himanta

Dec. 28: A Bill to repeal provincialisation of Madrassas will be tabled in Assam Legislative Assembly on Monday.

Informing this, State Health, Finance & Education Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Today I shall introduce a Bill to repeal Provincialisation of Madrassa.”

The Minister also wrote  “Once the Bill is passed, the practice of running Madrassa by the Government in Assam will come to an end, a practice which was started by Muslim League govt in pre-Independence Assam, in 1935.”
