Awareness programme on coronavirus conducted at Silchar Airport

March 12: Amidst outbreak of coronavirus in the country, the government has adopted various stringent measures. Checking and screening of passengers at airports have been given special emphasis. Awareness programmes are conducted for the ground staff at airports. It is in this backdrop that an awareness programme was conducted at Silchar Airport.

On Thursday, an awareness programme on Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) was organised at Silchar airport wherein officials from various agencies working in the airport participated. A team of 1st BN NDRF and doctors deputed by District Administration, Cachar conducted the awareness campaign. Various aspect related to the outbreak of coronavirus was discussed. The experts delivered lecture on the do’s and dont’s and also precautionary measures associated with it.

Ground staff of different airlines, security personnel, officers and staff of Silchar Airport attended the workshop. The participants expressed satisfaction to know about government guidelines for medical screening of passengers in line with the airport health organisation’s requirements.
