Assam registers 11 deaths due to COVID-19 on Thursday, toll rises to 608

Sept. 24: On Thursday, 11 persons lost their lives due to COVID-19. With this, the death toll in the state due to COVID-19 has now gone upto 608. I a tweet, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Very sad and anguished to inform that 11 more COVID positive patients have succumbed to the disease. My condolences to all the families. We stand by you in this hour of grief.” The 11 deceased were identified as:

• Krishna Chakraborty (47), Ramen Borah (74) of Dibrugarh
• Toibullah Ansari (85) of Lakhimpur
• Biseswar Roy Choudhury (68) of Morigaon
• Ratan Deka (59) & Lakhi Kalita (70) of Kamrup Rural
• Mahipal Kalita (60) Inamul Hague (80) of Kamrup Metro
• Biren Duwarah (74) of Golaghat
• Purna Deka (38) of Udalguri
