Assam registers 10 more COVID-19 deaths on Wednesday, tally rises to 213

August 19: On Wednesday, Assam registered 10 more deaths due to COVID-19. With this, the death tally of the state has reached 213. Out of the ten deceased, 2 are from Karimganj, 2 from Cachar and 1 from Hailakandi. The deceased from Cachar are:

• Bimolendu Chakraborty (84) of Cachar
• Sitangshu Chanda (78) of Cachar

The two persons who died due to COVID-19 from Karimganj are:

• Kalyanbrata Choudhury (50) of Karimganj
• Ranjana Bhattacharjee (51) of Karimganj

The deceased from Hailakandi was identified as:

• Bimalnandu Ray (64) of Hailakandi

Apart from these 5 persons, another 5 who lost their lives due to coronavirus in Assam are:

• Subhash Ghosh (42) of Dibrugarh
• Md Firoz Hussain (57) of Golaghat
• Fazaluddin Ahmed (73) of Nagaon
• Munwara Begum (40) of Kamrup Metro
• Late Sigheswar Rai (88) of Kamrup Metro

This was confirmed in a tweet by State Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday night.
