Four again tests +ve in Guwahati, total rises to 53 in Assam

May 7: Indeed a bad day for Assam. Within a gap of 40 minutes, 4 more were tested positive in Assam. These four were tested positive in Guwahati. At 9.30 PM on Thursday, State Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted to inform that 4 persons were detected positive in Cachar. Just within 40 minutes of this tweet, he again took to his twitter handle at 10.10 PM on Thursday to inform 4 more cases of COVID-19 were detected in Guwahati. With these 8 news cases, the total number of cases rises to 53 in Assam., out of which 18 are active cases.

Out of the four persons who tested positive in Guwahati, one of them came to Assam from outside the state, whereas the rest three were in home quarantine in Guwahati.
