All schools, colleges & universities in Assam to be closed from 16 March to 29 March

March 15: In the face of corona scare, all educational institutions in Assam including private schools, colleges and universities will remain closed from 16 March, 2020 to 29 March, 2020 till further notice. However, ongoing Board/ Council/ University Examinations will continue as per schedule.

All cinema halls, swimming pools and gymnasiums in the state will also be closed. This was informed by Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna in a Press Meet on Sunday morning.

Further, the State Government has already formed a core committee and IAS Anurag Goel has been appointed as the nodal officer of the committee. However, no confirmed case of COVID-19 has been found so far in Assam. Exhibitions and excursions have also been asked to call off as a preventive measure against the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
