34 tests Covid +ve in Hailakandi on Monday, 49 discharged, 1 death registered

The district has altogether 746 active COVID-19 cases

June 14: Hailakandi registered 34 new COVID-19 cases on Monday. Of the 34 positive cases detected on Monday, 34 have been found positive under Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and none were found positive in RT-PCR test. The district has altogether 746 active COVID-19 cases. During the day, 2,253 RAT tests and 215 RT-PCR tests were done. 49 patients were discharged during the day. With this, the district tally of Covid cases has now reached 7,166. As of now, a total of 3,011 patients were discharged. It needs mention here that 34 persons were found positive in Hailakandi on Sunday.

As of now, in the 60,070 persons have received the 1st dose of the vaccine (irrespective of age), whereas, 17,445 have been administered the 2nd dose in Hailakandi district.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 13 June to 5 PM on 14 June) witnessed demise of 03 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the three deceased on Monday, 02 are from Cachar district and 01 from Hailakandi. The deceased from Hailakandi was identified as:

  • Joy Narayan Satnami (61) from Manipurbazar in Hailakandi district got admitted at SMCH on 06 June. He died at 5 PM on 14 June.
