ABVP demands arrangement of public vehicles for transportation of students during JEE/NEET
August 31: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020 and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), 2020 are scheduled for September 2020. The Supreme Court had rejected the plea to postpone the entrance examinations. NTA claims that appropriate measurements have been taken to conduct the entrance examinations safely. Amidst the ongoing pandemic, Cachar district committee of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Monday has given a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Assam through the Deputy Commissioner, Cachar. Later on addressing the media, Kaberi Nag on behalf of ABVP said, “Today we have given a memorandum to the Chief Minister wherein we have highlighted the fact that due to the ongoing pandemic, public transport facilities are not available at present. This would cause great inconvenience to the aspiring candidates of NEET & JEE to commute to their respective exam centres. In this connection, we urged upon the government to make proper arrangement of public vehicles so that the students can reach their exam centres hassle free.”
She also appealed to the government to provide facilities for the stay of the students and guardians who would appear for these examinations. ABVP also raised the demand of proper sanitisation of the exam venues, so that the students can appear in the exams in a safe environment. Kaberi Nag said, “The final year examination of the students will also be conducted soon. However, we know that many students are staying within the containment zones. So we appeal to the government to make provision so that those students also could be evaluated. We request our honourable Chief Minister to conduct these examinations at the earliest.”
