Assam govt to create 100 posts in lower judiciary to strengthen justice delivery system

way2barak, Sept.11: Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday attended the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Bar Council of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh & Sikkim along with Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, Supreme Court judges- Justice Surya Kant, Justice Hrishikesh Roy and Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia, Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Justice RM Chhaya among others. 

Speaking during the occasion, Chief Minister Dr Sarma lauded the Bar Council’s orientation programmes for advocates and efforts to digitise all its records. “Our Govt will create 100 posts in lower judiciary to strengthen the justice delivery system,” stated Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The Chief Minister during the day also took part in inauguration of Gauhati High Court Museum in presence of Hon Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, Supreme Court judges Justice Surya Kant, Justice Hrishikesh Roy & Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia, Chief Justice of Gauhati HC Justice RM Chhaya among other legal luminaries. Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court Justice Arup Kumar Goswami & Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Justice Ujjal Kumar Bhuyan also graced the occasion.

“I was enlightened by the Museum’s historic items which were witness to 7 glorious decades of upholding justice by the NE India’s oldest high court, said the Chief Minister.
