With 26 more Covid +ve cases, day’s total in Cachar rises to 73 on 3 July, 2 deaths at SMCH

Active cases 560 in Cachar; 25 discharged on Saturday

July 3: The District Health Department of Cachar updated the Covid-19 data of Friday at 11.30 PM. As per the latest data, 32 more persons were detected as coronavirus positive during the day. With this, a total of 73 persons were found positive in the district on 3 July. Earlier, at 6 PM, it was informed that 47 persons were found positive. With this, the number of active cases in Cachar has come down to 560. This was informed by DIPRO Cachar on Saturday night. Also, 25 patients were discharged during the day. It needs mention here that on Friday, 93 persons were detected as Covid-19 positive in Cachar.

As per the updated data, a total of 12,507 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) were done, out of which, 45 persons were found positive, whereas 28 more were detected positive in RT-PCR Test. With this, the total number of Covid cases since 1 April, 2021 reached 17,802, whereas during this phase, 17,074 patients were discharged.

Apart from this, the district authority informed that out of the 560 active patients:

16 at MH
40 at SM Dev Civil Hospital
21 at Green Heals Pvt Hospital
13 at CRPF Doyapur
00 at Gracewell Nursing Home
09 at Cachar Cancer Hospital
00 at Valley Hospital
00 at South City Hospital
03 at Chibitabichia Model Hospital
08 at Jivan Jyoti Hospital
27 at Chotodudpatil Model Hospital
11 Palonghat Model Hospital
308 patients are in home isolation.

Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 2 July to 5 PM on 3 July) witnessed demise of 02 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the two deceased, one of them is from Cachar, while the other is from Hailakandi .

The two deceased were identified as Nur Islam Laskar (08) from Sheralipur in Hailakandi district and  Salehuddinraj Khan (74) from Nagatilla in Cachar district.

Dr Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH informed that till 5 PM on 3 July, there were 110 Covid-19 active patients at Silchar Medical College, out of which 50 patients were there in the ICU, whereas, 60 of them were in the Covid ward. Further, 19 patients were put under ventilator support and 81 of them were in oxygen support. In the last 24 hours, 20 Covid positive patients were admitted at SMCH and 12 of them were discharged.
