66 tests Covid +ve in Karimganj on Monday, 47 discharged & death of a child registered

June 21: Karimganj registered 66 fresh COVID-19 cases on Monday. The district has currently 1,014 active COVID-19 cases, while 47 patients have been discharged from hospitals and home isolation on Monday. 4,687 swab samples were collected during the day. It needs mention here that 39 positive cases were detected in Karimganj on Sunday.
Death of Covid-19 patients continued unabated in Barak Valley. The last 24 hours (5 PM on 20 June to 5 PM on 21 June) witnessed demise of 02 Covid-19 positive patients at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH). This was informed by Dr. Bhaskar Gupta, Vice Principal of SMCH. Their detailed reports were forwarded to the State Death Audit Board. Out of the two deceased, one of them is from Cachar, while the other is from Karimganj . The deceased from Karimganj district was identified as:
- Riaz-ul Haque (05 years) from Kanishail in Karimganj took admission in SMCH on 18 June. The child breathed his last at 8.50 AM on 21 June.
