Banabir Roy of Sonai Road die due to post Covid complications in Bangalore

June 8: In a tragic incident, Banabir Roy (Bonu), a resident of Sonai Road, Silchar breathed his last in a private hospital in Bangalore on Tuesday morning. He was 61. His family sources revealed that 2 months ago, Banabir Roy along with his wife went to their daughter’s home in Bangalore. However, the couple along with their daughter were detected as Covid-19 positive. As their condition worsened, all three of them were admitted in Astra Super Specialty Hospital, Bangalore.

Banabir Roy was admitted for around 7 days in the hospital. Meanwhile, he turned Covid negative. However, soon he developed post-Covid complications and passed away in the hospital itself on Tuesday morning. Though his wife and daughter too were serious and admitted in the same hospital, but both of them recovered and were released yesterday.

Banabir Roy is survived by his wife, Lipika Roy, son Tanish Roy, daughter Joyeeta Roy, son-in-law and a host of kith and kin. Banabir Roy is the younger brother of former Municipal Ward Commissioner and Congress leader Ranjit Roy.
