Illicit liquor, fermented wash seized by Excise personnel in Silchar & surrounding areas

June 6: Illicit distilled liquor, fermented wash and IMFL were seized by Excise personnel in Silchar on Saturday afternoon. Silchar Sadar Excise team in course of patrolling duty carried out raids at Irrongmara Gutitilla, Alianpur, Dwarbond, Asram Road, Topobannagar, Ramnagar and it’s adjoining areas under Silchar Police Station seized 50 litres of illicit distilled liquor (sulai), 20 litres of fermented wash, different IMFL brands containing 3.6BL – 20 bottles of containing 180 each were seized. A total number of eight cases were booked in this connection and six persons arrested whereas two cases were unclaimed.
