Illicit liquor, fermented wash seized by Excise personnel in Silchar

June 3: Illicit distilled liquor, fermented wash and IMFL were seized by Excise personnel in Silchar on Wednesday. Excise personnel under supervision of SE, Cachar in course of patrolling duty at Silcoorie camp market, Durgakuna TE, Irongmara Gutitilla, National Highway Point, Meharpur and adjoining areas under Silchar Police Station seized 25 litres of illicit distilled liquor (sulai), 80 litres of fermented wash which were subsequently destroyed, 10.08 BL of different IMFL brands containing 180ML each and 03.6 BL of beer containing 650ML each were seized. A total number of three cases were booked in this connection and two persons arrested with one absconding.
