Fisheries Minister Parimal Suklabaidya inaugurates Silchar Fish Festival 2021
Jan. 14: To mark the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Minister of Fisheries Parimal Suklabaidya inaugurated Silchar Fish Selling Festival 2021 on Wednesday in presence of MLA Dilip Kumar Paul, DDC Cachar JR Lalsim and other officials. The unique Fish Selling Festival, 2021 was organised by the District Fisheries Department in their office premises.
The Silchar Fish Selling Festival 2021 was organised under the guidance of District Fisheries Development Officer Rafiqul Haque. More than 50 beneficiaries brought huge quantity of local fishes and sold the same at affordable price. The beneficiaries were supported under various government projects, such as, CMSGUY, RKVY, RIDF, Blue Revolution, APART etc. The main objective of this festival is to show the actual ground level implementation of various projects initiated by the concerned department.

Taking to his twitter handle, Minister of Excise, Forest & Environment and Fisheries, Parimal Suklabaidya wrote “On the eve of Makar Sankranti & on the occasion of Bhogali Bihu,I was glad to inaugurate the ‘Fish Selling Festival’ today at District Fishery Office,Silchar along with Hon’ble MLA Shri Dilip Paul & other dignitaries.”
