Chief Election Commissioner to visit poll bound Assam & West Bengal

Jan. 14: Elections in West Bengal & Assam are knocking at the doors. It’s almost time for declaration of the poll schedule by the Election Commission. However, prior to that, it’s customary for the CEC to make visits to the poll bound states and take stock of the preparation. In such a move, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, along with Election Commissioners Sushil Chandra and Rajiv Kumar, will visit Assam and West Bengal early next week to take stock of preparations for Assembly polls. The terms of the legislative assemblies of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry are coming to an end on different dates in May and June this year. The Assembly elections are likely to take place sometime in April-May, 2021.
